Stamisol Safe One Euroclass A2 façade breather membrane behind cladding can be used both for closed and partially open vertical façades with up to 50 mm joints or an open area up to 50 % by meeting stringent fire prevention requirements:
— Apartment blocks higher than 11 meters

Recladding of high-rise buildings

At the count in March 2022, there are 483 high‐rise residential buildings identified to have unsafe ACM cladding and will need to be reclad.

Within the UK high-rise building recladding programme there could be an extensive need for replacement of vertical breather waterproof membranes. With the UK building regulations under review the opportunity should be taken now to refit with the new class A2-s1,d0 membrane instead of the current class E or B.

Our UK distributor ITP has supplied Stamisol Safe One, the UK’s most advanced façade breather membrane, for a key phase at Cardiff Central Square, a flagship development from Rightacres which is delivering new civic and recreational space described as ‘a new gateway to the capital of Wales.’

Designed by Holder Mathias Architects, the Cardiff Transport Interchange building is integral to the connectivity which is fundamental to Rightacre’s vision for Cardiff Central Square. One of the largest developments undertaken in Cardiff city centre, the mixed-use project comprises 500,000 sq ft of new space, including the 14-bay bus interchange with a covered concourse, 318 apartments for the private rented sector and around 90,000 sq ft of contemporary open-plan offices.

ISG have been appointed as the main contractor overseeing the £89m project to construct the Cardiff Transport Interchange. ISG has been working with roofing and façade contractor, Britannia Site Solutions, on the installation of the Stamisol Safe One breather membrane to provide high-performance water repellence combined with high water vapour permeability to control condensation within the building envelope.

To generate energy and support sustainability concepts for buildings, more and more buildings are being equipped with photovoltaic elements in the façade.

Tested for a fire resistance to 250 °C. Stamisol Safe One supports a safe design of the rear ventilation of photovoltaic façades or façade claddings, which are exposed to fire and heat radiation.
