Stamisol commits to Dame Judith Hackitt’s request for compliance

STATEMENT

Stamisol, the supplier of “Safe One” façade breather membranes, a division of Serge Ferrari, has announced that it has agreed to be compliant with the stringent requirements of building safety in the UK and to maintain the highest building industry standards.

Stamisol Safe One façade breather vertical wall membrane product, manufactured as part of life safety smoke and fire control vertical wall membrane, has been independently tested and certified to EN13501-1 standard as an Euroclass A2-s1,d0 membrane with the CE mark. This includes a requirement that installers who fit their vertical façade membranes should be accredited to NVQ level 2 and hold a CSCS skill card, this will demonstrate that they have the necessary competence to comply with ADB and C. This competence, coupled to the Stamisol Safe One 10-year product warranty, will give a perfect Euroclass A2 building envelope when used with other Euroclass A2 vertical wall products.

Stamisol has introduced a formal complaints procedure in order to effectively handle any concerns or allegations that standards have fallen below expected levels of an installer or an organisation has failed to adhere to the Stamisol code of conduct.

In the wake of the Grenfell tragedy and the subsequent review of building regulations and fire safety, Stamisol has taken great strides in addressing many of the challenges laid out in Dame Judith Hackitt’s report, demonstrating the leadership needed to drive a shift in culture for outer wall systems. Dame Judith recently warned that the current economic downturn could be used as an excuse for further poor practice and delay in doing the right thing.

Stamisol will continue to raise standards and build on the progress that has been made.

Tim Schubert, Business Unit Manager of Stamisol, explains: “Stamisol appreciate the importance of adhering to the highest possible standards when supplying and installing Euroclass A2 façade breather membranes systems into the UK. They are commitment to best practice and therefore can be relied upon to provide expert advice and guidance to architects, consultants, specifiers and installers”.
