Benchmark Water-tight Testing of 3 Façade Membranes Euroclass A1 and A2

Euroclass A1 membranes have been developed for non-combustibility, but their water protection is inadequate for many buildings as the outer coating has been reduced to achieve the A1-s1,do fire rating. Our new video compares the water-tightness of two A1 façade membranes with an A2 membrane, Stamisol Safe One. It explains the test rigs and procedures for the W1 test (EN 1928) and W2 test (EN 13111) and shows, how the 3 façade membranes are performing. Only one of them is approved W1: Stamisol Safe One, Award Winner at CIBSE Facade Award 2022 / Product of the Year.

Stamisol Safe One Façade Breather Membrane A2 Weatherproofing Spraytest vs. Competitors

Especially for high-rise and high-risk buildings it is essential to have optimum fire safety for your complete external wall system using façade membranes rated Euroclass A1 or A2.
But it is also essential that a façade membrane provides strong resistance against driving rain, wind and UV radiation to ensure a long life-time for the facade systems, especially the thermal insulation.
See for yourself how the facade membranes of two competitors perform in our in-house spray-test, Stamisol is doing after every production batch for 3 hours!

Stamisol Safe One Façade Breather Membrane A2 Waterproof / Breathability Test

Have a look at our in-house „bubble test“ showing, that Stamisol Safe One with it’s W1 waterproofness not only offers a very high resistance against driving rain, but also cares for an optimum climate within the building by bringing out moisture during the façade membrane. So with it’s breathability you will get the complete package for you external wall system!
This shows our commitment to uncompromising quality, fire safety, reliability and life time guarantee for an Euroclass A2-s1,d0 membrane to enrich essentially fire safety for facade design. It once more underlines the need for ADB to have vertical wall membranes removed from been exempt from being Euroclass A2, especially for high-rise and high-risk buidlings.

Stamisol Safe One façade membrane: how to achieve external wall systems completely in Euroclass A2

Façade membranes within a high-rise or high-risk building mostly cover a huge area of the building envelope and therefore have a high risk potential within the fire safety concept. Addressing the issue of breather membranes should therefore form part of any overall façade fire strategy.

Learn in our video how to realize an external wall system completely in Euroclass A2 and what you have to consider about façade breather membranes.
